Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana was renamed as Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana (GJAY), after social reformer Gopabandhu Das. The Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana was included in the Odisha state budget for the 2024–25 fiscal year. Residents of Odisha can take advantage of this program to receive free medical care at several facilities inside and outside the state. Residents of metropolitan regions would receive healthcare up to Rs. 6 lakhs, while those living in rural areas will receive free medical care up to Rs. 5 lakhs. For this project, the Odisha government has allocated Rs 3,056 crore in the new budget for 2024.
