Eligibility Criteria 

The eligibility criteria for applying under this scheme is simple and are given below:-

  • The applicant should be a permanent resident of the country.
  • The applicants belonging to the scheduled castes and scheduled Tribes are eligible for applying under this scheme.
  • Applicants who are partially or completely disabled are eligible. 
  • The applicant must hold a BPL ration card.
  • The applicant must hold an E-shram card.
  •  The applicant must have an MGNREGA job card. 
  • The annual income of the applicant’s family shall not exceed INR 8 lakh.

Benefits of PMMVY Registration

  • The PMMVY scheme is available to all pregnant women (PW) and lactating mothers (LM), with the exception of those employed by the state government, central government, or public sector undertakings, as well as those who currently benefit from comparable schemes under other applicable legislation. 
  • Additionally, Anganwadi Helpers (AWH), Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA), and Pregnant and Lactating Anganwadi Workers (AWW) are qualified.

Financial Assistance 

Under this scheme, the financial aid will be processed in two installments. First installment will be provided on registration of pregnancy and at least one Ante-natal check up within 6 months from the LMP date  at the respective administering State /UT may identify Anganwadi Centre (AWC)/ approved Health facilities. The firt installment will be of 3000 rupees. The second installment will be provided after the child birth is registered and this amount will be rupees 2000.

Selection of Beneficiary

  • To be eligible for the initiative, the candidate must be a pregnant lady who lives in India.
  •  For the second child to be eligible for the plan, the applicant must register while pregnant. 
  • To be eligible for the plan, the applicant must possess a card indicating that they are below the poverty line. 
  • If the applicant’s family’s annual income exceeds INR 8 lakh, she is not eligible for the scheme.
