There is good news for the farmers of Telangana State the State Government is going to launch the Rythu Bima Scheme on 15th August 2024. This scheme covers 47.87 lakh eligible farmers including an additional 2.74 lakh farmers. Under this scheme, in case of untimely death of the registered farmer due to any cause including natural death, the assured amount of Rs. 5 Lakhs will be deposited into the selected nominee account within 10 days. Authorities completed investigating the renewal data of farmers by July 30 and excluded the names of the farmers who have completed 60 years of age. Till June 28, the agriculture department has identified 3.22 lakh new Pattadar passbooks that were issued. Farmers between the age of 18 to 59 years are eligible for the scheme.

The motives of the scheme are as follows:
- The primary motive of launching the scheme is to provide financial assistance and social security to the family members or dependents, in case of loss of a farmer’s life due to any reason.
- The aim of the government launching this program is to help the bereaved families and their livelihoods as most of the farmers are small and belong to weaker sections of society.

To avail of the benefits under the scheme, candidates should fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
